I started on an Optimist at a summer camp when I was 11. Growing up on La Palma, I joined the local sailing club and moved from the Optimist to the ILCA 4. At 15 I moved to Gran Canaria to train with the ILCA team at the Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria, and around the same time I began crewing as bowman on a local yacht team. That is where I learned most of what I know about working on a boat.

Since then I've raced in dinghies and yachts, done deliveries, worked in boatyards and kept boats running, alongside four years of professional maritime training in Gran Canaria.

How I work

I'm at my best in an environment where there is always something to learn. I enjoy being surrounded by experienced sailors and strong teams because I see every day on the water as an opportunity to improve: refining my sail handling, learning a new system, understanding boat preparation or simply becoming a better teammate.

On the water

I'm highly focused and competitive. I take racing seriously, stay composed under pressure and stay committed to executing the job at hand to the best of my ability. I take criticism seriously and try to turn it into improvement rather than taking it personally. I'm comfortable working hard, adapting to different boats and environments and taking responsibility when something needs to get done.

Away from the boat

I'm calm, easy to work with, friendly, patient and hardworking, with a strong focus on getting things done properly and in an orderly manner. In my downtime I like being in nature, taking walks, reading and talking with like-minded people.
